Sustainability Assessments
Local planning authorities require the submission of a sustainability assessment setting out how the developer intends to address sustainability issues considered important in the local area. These issues cover both how efficiently the development conserves natural resources such as the energy efficiency of the building; water conservation; and the responsible sourcing of materials and how it impacts and interacts with the local areas such as: increasing NOx pollution levels; transport issues; and community issues.
They bring together a wide range of disciplines related to how a development interacts with, and impacts on, its local environment.
