Watching Briefs

A watching brief is a formal programme of observation and investigation carried out during the construction phase of a project.  Its purpose is to record any archaeological deposits that could not be determined prior to the start of construction (i.e. at the dba stage).  By their nature they are a rapid and economic means of satisfying relevant planning conditions.

Isambard Archaeology will provide the methodology for undertaking a watching brief for prior approval by the local planning authority and organise the relevant attendance during the construction phase of the project.
